   Tasks. The unit of activity. Labour productivity studies measure what happens here - what AI can substitute and what humans still do.

   Firms. A configuration of capabilities. Tasks combine into capabilities; capabilities configure into the firm. Modularity theory explains how that configuration reorganizes when AI changes which capabilities sit where.

3. 03

   Ecosystems. The value chain around the firm. Value migration theory tracks where power and surplus move when the architecture shifts.
